BOSE CD player Skipping when cold
#22
I got my Z back in January of this year when it was pretty cold and the HU was having the same problems with skipping. I took it in to the dealership and they replaced it under warranty, no questions asked. I haven't had that problem with the new head unit, but it hasn't gotten too cold here in Alabama yet.

Mine skips when its about 50 degrees outside and goes away. Its been getting in the 30s lately and I can't really play a CD at all because it skips so much but doesn't really go away either. My basic warranty is over with

Your statement is true, but I believe this problem is due to a combinations of things in the stock BOSE HU. My stock HU in my winter beater 2000 jetta only skips when it is below -30, while my 350Z stock HU started skipping when it was getting close to 0. My solution: Installed a Double Din DVD player and it hasn't skipped once.

Mine doesn't now. Soons as it got replaced, it quit. Also, my GM players have never done anything similar.
These are just really crappy quality.

Mine won't play CDs or even eject them now. You can't load them either. It just says "Push Eject." I push eject, it makes some noise, then say "Push eject" again. It's supposed to be warmer here tomorrow. Hopefully it'll work then. If not, I'm getting an aftermarket HU. Stupid Bose. My TL has a stock Bose system too, it doesn't have these problems though.
