Are the gear ratios, specifically, when you need to upshift, close for 1st thru 3rd, or have I just forgotten what shifting a Z was like over the past five years? It seems that I have to shift really quickly. Is this because it's a 6-speed?

 

I run out of room fast in 1st and 2nd, too, but 3rd seems flexible, as are 4th and 5th. We paid for the flexibility of the upper gears with the lower gears, so I try to keep my speed up.

 

not that we are promoting street racing, but it seems that by the time we get the 3rd, the opposition would be down the street. My car is not broken in yet, so I keep it inder 4000. Maybe I need to re-read some of the blow-by-blow racing posts to get a feel for what happens, now that I have my car, it'll prolly make more sense.
