I see what you're saying, but the name of the thread is how to get MORE traction

not how to GET traction

if you put bicycle wheels/tires on a Z, you'd still have traction, but not much of a threshold

besides, he could have had TCS/VDC on when he lost traction

I'd suspect TCS or VDC can be not all that effective if you were on really slick roads or ice. Even with the engine cut and individual braking you'd still skid if you're beyond your traction threshold.

I did'nt mean to get everyone all riled up.......I'm pulling my hair out trying to find an easy to understand full description of the braking sytem, and I'm going nuts.......Sorry to have posted the things I did, as if I designed the the damned system.....I think I'll try to read a bit more than write for awhile.......I may not sound like it, but I do have a lot more respect for the members of this forum than you folks probably believe.......Later, "Foot in Mouth FLZ"

Point taken, Dave p.s. I doubt there's anything effective on an icy road, unless our cars could sh*t salt....:-)

There's no problem. We're all here to share info and socialize as a community. Here's a link that gives basic info on the development of vehicle stablility control.
