get an attorney....you won't have to go to court or get points on your license.......at least here in NC that's how it works (I've done it 3 times). It would be worth checking out in your area.

Why on earth would they cut the cost in half? That's absurd.

I got a speeding tickets ages ago and I had to pay it in full. Then I went to traffic school to remove it from my driving record.

I'm speaking in terms of colorado so if it don't work in vegas than I'm sorry...........it all boils down to money. YOu should take it to court cause here, 99% of the time they will reduce the points and the fee cause it cost them too much too fight you.

As for vegas, if you call them of course they gonna say you gotta pay it full and all kind of other bs. They want your money. I say fight it, most likely it will be reduce and you get an excuse to go to Vegas.

I had a radar in my M3 for a while, but now the cops around here (in NJ) use insta... which basically gets you pinged before your radar can even track them.

With that being the case, I basically decided my radar was useless and didnt even bother getting one for my Z. Now I just rely on my gold PBA car to get me out of trouble.

2 weeks ago:
"do you know why I pulled you over?"
me: "no.."
"license and registration"
i hand it to him, me: "Officer, I also have this card" give him the PBA card.
he looks at it, "please step out of the car sir"
I step out, and he brings me over to his cruiser and shows me his radar gun, it reads 63mph.
"do you know that the speed limit around here is 30mph?"
me: "no I wasnt aware of it, I will be more careful"
the cop grunts, "okay, you can get back in your car
5 mins later he comes to the window, "here is a ticket for your seatbelt and a written warning for speeding, have a nice day"

haha, 63 in a 30 and I get away with a $46 seatbelt ticket. Get a PBA card, forget radars. Thats what its all about

I've had three previous speeding tickets before; I pleaded Not Guilty and went in and had them all dropped to something else, which usually cost me much less than a speeding ticket.

Srivero297-- Growing up in NJ I've always heard the legend that PBA cards will almost always get you out of tickets... but how does one actually get a PBA card anyway? I was under the impression that you had to be a family member of a police officer, but you make it sound like they're easy to get.

Police Benevolent Association

not all areas have them or are called that...a lot of FOP's (Fraternal Order of Police) cards are out there too...

i'm not a member of a police lodge (FOP) so I don't even have the cards for friends or family.

Technically yes, you have to be a family member of a cop to have one, but every cop gets a certian amount of them to hand out and he chooses who he wants to give them to. When the cop asks you who the officer on the card is, say your cousin or your Uncle. What can they do, a background search to see if you are lying? They just take your word for it and say have a nice day. When I got mine I also thought they were hard to get and I was really priveledged to have one, but lately Ive seen a lot of others with PBA cards also.

I have a novel ideal. Do 45MPH in 45 speed zone.

It. Just. Might. Work.

Cost is a little expensive. I think I won it for $675 on Ebay back in April 2004.

The front mounted sensor is so sensitive that it warns be of threats behind me, with plenty of time. I guess the radar signals bounce off of everything.

I got a speeding ticket once. It was a laser gun/trap. I was going so fast that I couldn't possible slow down fast enough. It did warn me, and jammed his gun for a short while. He was eventually able to get a reading, and thank God it was only 10 over. It could have been much worse. I had the stereo cranked and just wasn't paying attention. Ever since that, I still drive kind-of aggressive, but pay more attention to the detector and my surroundings.

I'm telling you, this should be standard equipment on this car.
