Default Stuck Z

My Z was in a body shop for a couple days gettin a deep scratch from when I bought the car fixed. We had gotten 4-6 inches of snow here in the fort last night, and I had to go pick up the Z. The main roads were plowed pretty well, but the shop was on a small, unplowed road. Let's just say I got 20 yards from the parking space, and the car was totally stuck. If I gave it any gas, the wheels would spin and the back end would go to the right. My brother and I pushed it out and took it back to the shop, where she'll remain till monday. Hopefully the roads will be better then. I knew the Z would be bad on snow, but not THAT bad. Anyway, does anyone else have winter horror stories?

do you have snow tires? i am sorry to say that i dont have any winter horror stories. in fact here in dayton i have used my Z non stop over the last 2 days, and we were one of the hardest hit areas, 23 inches of the powder. okay maybe not last night when nothing short of a Hum-V could have gotten around. but as far as today and even through the brunt of the storm yesterday, the Z handle great with snow tires on.

last year though, with the OEM tires i did get stuck in a light dusting, in a parking lot. you could still see the lines of the parking spaces through the snow and the Z was useless.

When in snow on sh!tty tires, turn off VDC and try driving in 2nd gear. Helps a little.

Otherwise, push back to shop, as you did.

I bought my car in April 2004. We had one snowfall about a week later.

What normally took me 15 minutes to get home, took me 1 hour. If I got above 20 km/h, the back end stepped out to the right FAST. Then once I got in the driveway, it took another 20 minutes to get in the garage cuz of a short incline and not being able to shovel the driveway down to the gravel...

I'm riding on Blizzak WS-50s and couldn't be happier now...

... well, I would be happier if it was summer again and I had a spare $20K for upgrades...
