Transmission Issue

When I start the car, the clutch is in, parking brake on, gear is in neutral. After the car starts, as I let out the clutch (in neutral), the car pulls forward. Since the car is cold, the tach is at about 1,100. In an effort to unlock whatever is making the car pull forward (as if its in first gear), I put the clutch back in and cycle through the six gears. That doesn’t help.
After about thirty seconds of warm-up (clutch in), I drive and hear whining from the trans/clutch. The gearbox is very notchy (more than usual) and difficult to put into first or second. The car eventually it warms up enough so the symptoms disappear.
I suspect something is wrong with the gearbox. I am aware of the TSBs for trans, etc. Has anyone experienced this? Is this the precursor to trans/clutch failure? Can I drive the car? Your thoughts are appreciated.

hmmm.. I have some similar problems but not quite the same as yours.
However... what do you mean by notchy??? When I shift from 1-2-3-4-5-6 my gearbox feels fine...
BUT when I try do gently downshift from 3rd to 2nd... It feels like it just doesn't want to go in
I have to slowly add pressure with my hand and eventually just yank it into 2nd.
Anyone have this problem?

I got the car back. Evidentially, when they preformed the 30k service, the tech replaced the trans fluid with something called 75/85, not the Nissan product the service manual specified. The fluid was too viscous and friction caused the trans to engage. He replaced the fluid with the correct one and it seems to run OK. Any long-term implications?
