Cool These Brembos...

Are Freakin AMAZING!! Holy crap I am loving every second I am in my car. The Brembos are just the best brakes I've had the privledge of using. Damn you Track owners know what the hell I am talking about. First the look, orange peeking through the Rays. The feel, very responsive and dead on stability. The power, I have driven the S2K and I must say the brakes are suprisingly much better, all I have to do is tap it and they do the job done very efficientlly. Man I can't wait till break in period is over, only have 86 miles on it right now, then I will be able to see what she REALLY got.
She begs to be driven, and driven hard.

Must... resist... going...... over...4k... rpms....

If I did, and I am not saying I do, should I sell my new Z with 700 miles on it and look for, lets say, some other type of car?

Maybe an American car? There are ALOT of American cars out there.....
what should I look for?

Maybe something that already took that "off the showroom floor price hit?"

I really could use a little help here.......

anyone?

The regular brakes are just about as good as the Brembos. Both are excellent.

Now if you really want some good brakes just add some stainless steel brake lines, probably about $100 to $130. This is one of the things I did to my Z32 years ago. Put in some good synthetic fluid too.

You won't believe the difference in feel.

This is one of the first things I will do to my Track model which I'm picking up this morning.

The Brembo brakes were the single most important reason I chose the 350Z Track model. Kudos to Nissan for offering the factory upgrade in a very price sensitive market. Some Japanese manufacturers seem to have abandoned the idea of having high performance brakes. Have you seen the braking distances for the Acura RSX and Honda Civic Si?

Although my Z is not fully broken in, I have a suspicion that the Brembo still do not match the performance of the factory brakes on my 1997 Toyota Supra Turbo. The Supra has 12.6" front rotors and 11.6" rear ones, compared to the Z's 12.8" front/12.7"rear rotors. However, the Supra's rotors are spirally vented and the front calipers are truly MASSIVE. The mkiv Supra was really a car ahead of its time...The brakes are bit touchy, but have awesome power.

Road & Track listed the Supra's 80-0mph braking distance as 208 ft versus the 350Z Track's distance of 217 ft. Both are obviously excellent.

The Track brakes:

Here are the StopTech brakes on my Subaru WRX. Can you tell that I like good brakes?

Thumbs up

I have to agree with the point that the Brembos are truly an amazing thing... after two track weekends, I have yet to experience brake fade, and has no problem stopping from 120+ mph stops.

Haven't seen any other 350Z's really. This is the only one I truely got to sit in, start the engine (love starting the engine), and have actually driven. I bet the non-Brembos are nice too, but I really love to stare at those orange calipers.

I hear that, brakes are SO underrated. I love good brakes, that is one of the main reasons I got the track. I can't stand having to smash the hell out of a cars brakes to get anything out of them.

I driven the S2K, and it is really annoying to wait for vtec at 6k rpms. Just because I said that the brakes are better than the S2K doesn't mean I don't like it. Man you Stook drivers are so defensive.

Plus I never said the car can't go over 4k rpms during break in. I just said I am not taking it over 4k.
