Default Engine dies at 2500 RPM

A wierd thing happened the other day.
I was trying out a 100 shot nitrous jet the other day. I did a quick run up to 90 and down to 0. When I tried to leave from the light I couldn't accelerate past 2500 RPM in any gear, but up to 2500 RPM the engine ran fine. I done a search on this subject and found some posts talking about "limp mode" but I can't find anything on that in the manual. I did find a reference to a DTC code #P0102.

Any info out there?
Terry

I know the 240sx guys talk about this alot. Sounds like your engine/ecu is in safe mode.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

Pretty sure all you have to do is disconnect the battery and reconnect it after 10 minutes or so. This will reset the ECU, but as far as future problems ... the car is doing it for a reason, I don't know if others on the boards are running NOS. Maybe they can help you.

I dont think its wise to use NOS on the stock VQ motor. Someone I know blew a hole in the motor!

Take a look at your MAF sensor.

Had similar experience.....I did'nt have any mods but it did go into "safe mode"....My Oxygen Sensor ended up being the culprit....Just a thought....Dave
