Just go test drive one.

i think the z is fine for a daily driver as long as your not driving like 100 miles to get to work, its plenty comfortable for a long ride and feeling the bumps in the road doesnt bother me at all, its a question on what you, like. But the roads around where i live arent the best , but i deal w/ it and am very used to it by now

One time I was driving a rental car for the day cause my Z was in the shop. They gave me a chevy silverado.
I felt unsafe driving that truck. The suspension was so soft and center of gravity was so high. You couldn't feel what the truck was doing - couldn't really feel the quality of the road. I felt like I could roll the thing if I took a 90 degree turn at 30mph. It felt spongy and i could rotate the wheel like 10 degrees before it'd actually start to turn...
I felt so much safer getting back in the Z and am glad I get to drive it everyday.
I also got in a car wreck once and my Z was totalled. If I was in another car, I'm not sure how well it would have held up - especially one of those cheap 4 cylinder economy cars...

MK4 Supra TTs are badass! Hold on to that car...The Supra, Skyline, and RX-7 are my favorite Japanese cars...well that and the Z too . Just get an Enthusiast Z as a daily driver and keep the Supra for those weekend days

The ride is no problem for the Z as a daily driver. The sti has a more jarring ride in my opinion than the Z. I drive approx. 100-150 miles a day roundtrip for work in my Z. The only problem I have is the stock seats are not too supportive. But this can be easily cured with some aftermarket seats, I hope.

I drive my Zed year round including the winter (~ 500 km/week). I love it. It's has some mods but one of my goals was to keep the car looking, sounding, and drivability as close to OEM as possible while improving all aspects of performance.
Instead of conforming yourself to the car's perceived narrow focus, conform it. I needed to carry a mountain bike so I got a Hunch rack. I wanted more cruising tunes so I got XM. I wanted to drive year round safely so I got Blizzacks.
As much as I like it, I want a more challenging ride. I'll be keeping my Brickyard as a daily driver and this week I'm getting another silver (wrecked) 350 to build a lapping/ice racing car. Notice that I didn't consider selling my Brickyard but chose to keep it as a daily driver - these cars are that good!

My Z is a daily driver now... I do 25 miles to work...25 miles still north to school then make the 50 mile journey back to get home ...yes it sounds crazy but you know what when ya cruising back you sorta forget mileage and just enjoy the ride
BTW most times I turn off the radio just to hear the engine purr
Oh ya and its a 6 speed

Like many of the folks around here my 350Z is my only car, so it is my daily driver. I only live a few miles from work, so the ride is short and I often ride my bike instead. However, I've taken many road trips in it (since my family lives 500 miles away), and it's not a problem. It is definitely more harsh and noisier than my previous Audi A4, and my A4 even had aftermarket suspension. However, the Z's springs are linear, and my aftermarket A4 springs were progressive rate. Progressive rate springs can make a bit difference when it comes to soaking up the bumps on the freeway.
However, like VandyZ said up above, if you love your Supra you might not want to get rid of it. I might suggest just getting a cheap commuter, like a used Civic or something. Reasonably comfy, good gas mileage, and reliable. That'd probably be a better choice if you're just going to rack up a bunch of commute miles on it. Plus, having a beater makes life so much more enjoyable because you don't have to worry so much about door dings, etc. You can just sort of park it and forget it.
