Looking for Xenon HID bulbs to replace Halogens on 2005 Base Z
The Halogens on the Base model are IMO don't provide enough lighting, especially on very dark roads....I never thought Nissan would install a headlight this weak on a car
I know the Halogens can be replaced with an HID Kit .....I'd prefer to JUST replace with Xenon HID Bulbs, just pop out the old and screw in the new.....Can this be done??
Any ideas where to get them at a reasonable price (I have seen them for $10 a pair -bulbs only, on eBay).

Forget those bulbs. Do it right and save yourself some headache and $$$ in the long run. I have a Base model also and just upgraded to Nissan OEM HID lights and ballast. I purchased them from JUN for $300 shipped. Send him a PM for info or do a search.

I agree with Silver_Racer. You will run into problems if you just replace the bulbs. You need the correct electrical housing/connections because Xenon bulbs are not like halogen. Do it the right way and get the real kit, OEM or aftermarket.
I was going to do this when I was thinking about buying a base Z but I read a few documentations on it and it was a lot of trouble. I just decided to go for a Perf instead of a base Z.

With fleaBay, you get what you pay for... I can also attest to buying from member Jun on this board for OEM HIDs. If you are looking for simple halogen bulb swaps, there are replacements available (albeit non Xenon). I believe PIAA offers quality bulbs in this fashion..... there are others, but their name elude me at this time...

If I can just get a higher output Halogen bulb ...that'll do for now...I don't wanna put out $200 -$300 for a Kit + Ballast etc.
If anyone knows where to get such a bulb (Type H7, i think), I'd be eternally grateful!

I'm getting tired of these Mini-Van driving housewives and f*ckin Soccer Mom's (Beeyotches!!) trying to cut me off....Partly cuz my headlights aren't bright enough AND also, they are thinking about what to get from the damn grocery store and what time to pick up lil Susie from #@&*! piano lessons ..WTF man??

Honestly, avoid those super-white halogen bulbs as much as you can. The initial cost might be low, but they burn out rather fast (typical life span is about 2 weeks to 3-4 months) so you'll end up spending $10-20 every few weeks. Also their lighting effect are even worse than stock halogen bulbs, all they do is emit white lights that somewhat resemble HID lights but they really don't compare in terms of lighting power. If you really insist I recommend PIAA's also, I've heard good things about them.
