Default Shocks....Konis or Tokicos

Plan on upgrading shocks. Newbie to the 350 but not Zs in general. Had an 86 I put adj Konis on and my 90 I tried Tokicos. Both seemed to work well. Whats the hot setup on the 350?

And, where to buy for the best deal? Any tricks to putting them on? I just bought a used 03 with 12K miles. Haven't put a wrench to it yet b ut a shock change looks pretty simple. Or, are looks decieving??

konis seem to be popular. im installing mine this weekend. tokicos are cheaper, but i have read mixed reviews. to many soft settings i guess. try posting this in the suspension forums for more feedback. the konis can be had for about $650 shipped.

I've seen this thread a half dozen times, Koni or Tokico? I haven't riden on Tokico so I can't say a thing about them, but I've got Koni and I can tell you they are excellent, a huge improvement. Many people ask if it's "worth it"? The Konis are more expensive but you better believe the're worth every penny.

I like D-specs so much I bought a set for my old 350 and now my new one, they ride EXCELENT, you cam make them butter powder soft to brick hard ( more then stock but not bouncy) the range of adjustability is awesome, and at $500 a set there a steal!!

the only thing is ,, to adjust the rears you have to drill a small hole on top of the rear strut bar about where the top of shock is
to adjust with a long 3 mm hex

Having 16 adjustments doesn't mean much if there's almost no change in the curve on the shock dyno. In my experience, OTS Konis have much better low and mid-speed dampening than the Tokicos, and their 5 adjustments provide a larger range of adjustability than the Tokicos.

i havent tried others but the koni adjusts continually as in theres no "notches" or stops it whatever you count it.
you have to actually TRY them, and not go off the paper graph thing but anyway they get very har or very soft with loong way inbetween

I love the tokicos as well. There is a big difference between each adjustment. I decided to stiffen up both the front and rear by 1 and OMG it made a huge difference (both bad and good). Ride quality got worse but it got alot stiffer to. With the tokicos you can make your car have a very smooth ride or very stiff. Without the bounce of course.. Well worth the $500.
