He may not be lying, but he definitely doesn't want to say that it'll be fixed for the 2006 model (or something like that), because if there's a chance you might buy a 2005 model (say, upgrading to the 300-hp track model), he doesn't want you to wait.
I agree that Sales is usually the last to know, mostly because with their ignorance they can tell you something that isn't true, but the sales person won't be lying about it (technically, since they don't know any better).
My tire feathering was fixed no muss no fuss under the TSB. I now have 13500 and it hasn't come back.
