8-9 psi @ 450hp sounds promising.....I think I would take that and be satisfied.....

Yep, that's the best part......I hoped 400ish would be doable on stock internals and keep it reliable.
450 is great....jsut have to wait and see how the tuning and reliability pan out......
It's good to be the z owner.......

I've never been in the market for an aftermarket turbo in the past. Which kit companies are known for the highest quality kits in terms of durability? (durability in terms of both the kit and the durability of car itself - e.g. kits that aren't over-boosted or do bad things to the ECU)
It depends, the best turbo kits vary from car to car. Best solution is to do a lot of research, and build a custom one yourself. The key is tuning your turbo, which can cost a lot of dyno time. But when done right, you'll produce more power out of a more efficient turbo.

As sweet as that is, 7-8K kind of hurts. I had prepaired myself for about 5G's for a setup (single turbo), d@mn that's up there. Then clutch, gauges, and if your doing clutch why not flywheel? Then a better LSD............it is a disease that spreads quickly.
BUT....You gotta do what you gotta do, where do I sign?

A friend of mine is a nissan mechanic. Mechanics get sent up to the nissan training cehter for new model updates. During one of those trainning sessions, he told me they were discussing the engineers at nissan are testing the 350Z motor being used in the next model skyline with a turbo charger and getting 400hp + and that they were playing with the idea of dropping it into a 350Z. Again, this is food for thought and because I did not hear the engineer say it to me personally, I am at the mercy of trusting his word. Has anyone else heard these rumors?

I thought the wait for the Z was bad. Now the wait for toys is going to kill me.

Fortunatly, along with the "Z" came a new girlfriend, so she is keeping me distracted in the mean time.
wouldnt that mean they had the same engine? what would seperate the skyline from the Z? AWD? thats not a big thing... I would say the engineer may have said that, but that doesnt mean it will ever happen.

I think that eventually they will put a turbo charger stock into the 350Z, as for the skyline, using the same engine will give them lots of horsepower with a turbo, especially conbinded with a AWD for better acceleration and handeling.
Although to be able to compete with the new S4 which will have a V8 twin turbo is going to be real hard to compete with, so they will probably have to think about putting a V8 into the skyline, and most likley twin turbo that and they will have easily around 400-500hp.

-D'oh!
Whoa, when did the "Girlfriend" option get added to the list? Is this on NissanDriven.com? I swear it wasn't there when I ordered. And wouldn't you know it the damn site is down.
Congrats on the option, ColecatZ!
I hope everything works out with the insurance company. Don't let them work ya!
