Man that sure does suck!!! If I was you I would call my insurance co. and tell them of your displeasure with them. I would tell them that you want your ZR fixed this time correctly or you want them to pay to have someone else fix it.

File a complaint with Consumer Protection!!!

Body shop turned the car over to Turner Nissan last week to investigate the "snap/pop" noise, why the nut/stud was stripped on the cross brace and the missing foam pad.

I was called on 3/4 (from the body shop) stating all items were fixed. I was driven to Turner Nissan. I found that Turner Nissan had done nothing about the missing foam taillight pad, they did resolve the stud/nut issue by drilling out the old stud and putting a new bolt/nut on the brace. That seemed fine.

They stated the snap/pop noise was from an under torqued right rear suspension component. I thought "how strange" but ok if it's fixed. By the first stop light after leaving the Turner Nissan lot, I hear another "pop/snap" noise. Arrgggggg!

I drove right back and explained my displeasure with the repair. The tech that "located" the suspension issue took a test drive with me and acknowledged the fact that the noise was still there. They've located some "chassis ears" to help them locate the "true" source of the noise. It goes back in on 3/8/05 for this issue.

What fun.....

Well this saga is over. Not that anything was fixed by two body shops nor did my local Nissan service department find or fix the problem.

I just spent WAY too much time on this and my weekly commute to the SF Bay Area is about to begin for my job.

Today my 04.5 Silverstone Touring Roadster was traded in on an 05 Silverstone Touring Roadster. I kind of like the AT manual mode downshift change in the 05. Not a big difference but some. Standard TPMS on the 05.

The best thing of all is there is no BLEEPing noise from this one. I've spent nearly two full months on trying, screaming, pleading for someone to care enough to persue this issue with me to a resolution. The only thing I really got out of this situation is I met a REALLY nice service manager at Turner Nissan in Sacramento, CA. Doug Davis tried so many things to locate the source of the noise but in the end no direct source could be found. He's been a good friend throughout this situation. I guess I know where I'm getting my 05 roadster serviced at now.

The noise was under the passenger rear quarter panel and the body shop, insurance company nor my local nissan service shop could care less. The phrase "what noise" or "roadsters make noises so what's your problem" rolled off of too many tongues in this situation.

It hurt the bank account but at least now I'm off to a clean start with my 05 Roadster. Cooks Collision of Carmichael will never see another dime of business from me or any of my associates.
