VQ35DE, how old is it?
I thought the VQ-engine series was first use in the last gen. Maxima, and then they started using them on the FX35/G35/Altima/Maxima/350z.
But my friend believes he read somewhere where it states the VQ-engine is like 10 years old or something like that.
Anyone have the exact facts?

The first VQ was in the 95 maxima as a 3.0 liter 195 hp engine-smooth as butter. I believe it was first reworked to 3.5 liter in the 2002 maxima. Each change Nissan makes to get more HP (up to 300 now) makes it run alittle rougher. But who's complaining?

I've ridden in (but not driven) an 00 Maxima w/the 3 liter V6 and it sounds smoother than the 3.5L V6 in my 02 MAx.
Yes, the 3.5L V6 first appeared in the 01 Pathfinder.
