Default Is the 350Z fun to drive?

Simple question.. Is the Z fun to drive? Everyone is splitting hairs, down to the tenth of a second on 0-60 times, and 1/4 mile times. These figures are great, but what I want to know is stuff like.. can you break the rear end loose around the corners, and drift like a wildman, can you chirp the tires in second gear when you want to, does it sound like a hell hound growling when you punch it?

I currently drive a 95 5.0 Rustang with only one mod... I cut the mufflers off, left the cats on. It's a hoot to drive. I have no idea how fast it is 0-60, but when I punch it, it leaps forward and you can hear/feel it. Drifting the rear end around corners is my version of crack cocaine RAWR.

Now that some of you guys have broken in your Z's.. how's the agressive driving feel/sound? I'll be ordering a new car after the new year, and my first choice now is the Z, with a close second to the G35C. The dealerships still won't let me drive the Z, so I would appreciate some feedback.

from first to second you can easily break the traction for a full peel, Im not talking chirp, full traction loss. 2nd to 3rd, you can chirp hard. havent tried 4th sinc Id be doin like 90mph at that point.

as for drifting, not perfectly, it gets moderate understeer. but I find a tap of the brakes will fix that. also you can pump the backs up and it will loosen up.

as for it needing to drift? nah I can corner a turn with both wheels on the ground like no other. but drifting sure is fun, havent really tried so much yet. Im not only not broken in (this doesnt really effect cornering tho) but Im learning the cars temperment, you know, like I dont want to go full out and break traction to find I have no idea how the car will handle it.

however if this wasnt enough to make it a blast. do it all with everyone cocking their head to get a glimpse, that just is the icing on the cake.

I did some safe spirited driving yesterday.
After having the car for a month, I actually enjoyed driving it yesterday and today.

Took awhile, but now it's starting to feel good.
I'm under 400miles right now... hardly drive the car much.
I think this car will be loads of fun once the break in is over.

that's a hard question to answer: is it fun to drive. the car does all the things you asked, but does that make it fun? i recommend that you try to set up a test drive and see for yourself - it's the only true way to discover if YOU will like the car.

Is the wheel OK? If not, sorry, Mike. Did you have fun before you hit the curb?

Yes, it's fun to drive.

Wow s2000-2FAST4Z, nice points (first I've seen in the negative numbers), hehe. You should try to stay out of trouble.

HEY s2000-2FAST4Z do you really think the s2000 is too fast for the Z? Please man get off the crack, makes your genitals shrink.

Anything is fun if you like driving. The Z just makes it easier.

Thumbs up

Well it's not fun if you don't like people staring at you all the time. And it REALLY sucks when you drive it, that annoying growl of the engine sure does get annoying. Hehehe, j/k this car kicks so much ****! I am loving every minute of driving this car. And I am happy that Nissan brought the Z back for the people.

Yeah, too bad there's no intelligence test required for S2000 ownership...
