Default Thinking of trading my Z for an '04 Acura TL

With all the problems I am considering trading the Z for an '04 or '05 Acura TL3.2

I love the way those cars look & feel inside. LOVE 'EM. Anyone have any experience with them???? I think I'm ready to move into something more "luxourious"

(yeah, this should be in the "other vehicles" section, but this thread contains the Z that im considering trading )

With all the types of cars in the world, first, why are you going from a 2 door sports car to a 4 door "sports" sedan? And secondly, why are you picking the Acura? Very nice car, but just what mindset does one have going from the Z to an Acura ?.....I'm not flaming you, I'm just curious on your reasoning.....Dave ps. I've never heard of many, if any problems with an Acura......And a friend of mine bought the last year of the previous TL bodystyle....You want to talk about upset
? The new ones are dynamite looking.....

I owned an Acura that I traded for my Z. It was a very nice car, smooth, quiet, plenty of power, reliable. I'd get another one if I wasn't enjoying my sports car so much.

I had a 3.2 CL type S prior to my Z... It was a great car, and pretty sporty, but big! Even with the 260hp, it never handeled or had the power of my Z. Of course if you need the extra room, it's probably a good choice; I usually travel alone or with one additional person, so the Z works well for me. Also, I was pleasantly surprised on longer road trips, I was less tired with the Z...even with the top down for 800 miles! tough life, huh!

First of all, I love the way they look.
2nd - I fell in love with the interior of my friend's '03 (prior model). Just beautiful
3rd - I could use something bigger (even though the z is not a daily driver)
4th - I want LUXURY
5th - In less than a year, I feel that non drivetrain related crap will start breaking & I'll end up paying for it when the warranty ends on my Z.
6th - Power is not that important to me in a luxury car, although the 270hp should be enough.

Overall, its the looks & interior of the car & the fact that it is much more practical that is making me seriously consider it.

Thanks for input, guys!!!

The G35 sedan feels very "cheap" and "plasticy" for a $33k+ car. The interior of the TL is signficantly better than that of the G35 sedan.

My biggest complaint about the TL is that it is FWD.

Look what list your new car just made. super awesome list I'm a long time Honda/Acura owner who will never own another one till they clean their act up. My RSX weant through 3 sets of syncros and 1 new transmission so I got rid of it for the Z. If you look you can see that there are a few major Honda brand cars on that list. I don't know but it seems that everything they touch lately breaks.

I know how you feel. I am a LONG time Nissan owner who WILL own one one day again. My 350z went through 3 transmissions & LOTS of other stuff that i mentioned in other threads.

I feel I need a change to try something different.

I hear ya. Good luck with whatever you decide on. I just hope my new Z stays together better than the RSX did.

How on earth are you considering acura crappy??? You must not know what you are talking about. I have owned an acura for 5 years and my dad has driven many acuras over the past 15 years. We have never had a problem out of any of them and they have been the best cars we have owned. My dad now has an 04 TL 6-speed and it is so sweet and so smooth. It has plenty of power and the smoothness of the engine and transmission is amazing. It does not handle as well as a Z, but for fwd it is next to none IMO. Plus the interrior looks amazing. It might not be as quick as a 6-speed Z, but I did take down my friends auto Z from a roll. Not hating on the Z at all, just telling how good I think the TL is.
