Im not sure if this topic has been brought up before but i am just wondering would be some mods that will get me to run low 13s with out blowing it or turboing it. ITs hard to mod without forced induction because its naturally aspirated, but im trying to get about 340-350 to the crank with out forced induciton. Is it just as expensive?

 

Here's how I got into the low 13's on street tires. I ran a 13.38 my last time out.

About $4500. If you get sticky tires, then you can probably get there with just the 3.9 and Tilton. If you want to get up to 340 to the crank you'll have to add cams, headers, plenum and a really good tune. That will set you back another $3000+. I'm at ~310hp to the crank right now.

 

my setup should be doing what you're looking for as far as power - I recomend getting wider stickier tires (new wheels needed for it) than stock hough - I'm struggling for grip when I floor it

wow this car isnt cheap to mod! I didnt realize that, i mean im only 17. Im going to buy the car in the summer and im just tryin to find out everything about it. I just wann run low 13s so i can compete with my brothers supra befoe who goes bpu plus plus. Which means 500 at the crank viper territory. Ive been in a z and its def a quick and torquey little car, but there is def a noticeable power gap once the second turbo in the supra kicks in. I want it to hang with supra not get walked by it. thanks for info though.

bpu++ or whatever isn't going to get you 500...

Stock twins start taking a dump around 420-440, and doesn't deliver NEARLY the torque.

If your brother plans on keeping with Vipers he'll have to go single, add fuel, and management... THEN he can play.

As for your car keeping with it... We aren't driving straight line cars.

 

I'm no tranny expert, but the 3.9 Evo Final Drive replaces the final drive gear in your transmission. In a nutshell, it shortens all the gears, resulting in faster acceleration, but a lower top speed.

I believe installing just the 3.9 Evo Final Drive by itself results in a net loss of .2-.3 seconds off your 1/4 mile time.

 

it's a replacement of the differential's final drive gear resulting in faster acceleration/shorter gearing.

combined with slicks, an LSD, and a 3.90 rearend, any Z should pull mid to low 13's.


but you'll lose gas mileage on the highway, especially compared to the stock 3.55 rear end.


a friend of mine had a 4.10 in his Mustang... 3500rpm+ at 60mph.

 

Actually thats wat it makes to the whells (420) if u bpu plus it u can get 500 hp trust me stage one will give u 500 ive seen it. THen again that is pretty pathetic for a supra. ONcee u fid a single turbo supra then there is no point for the z to race it. I mean come one u can get 900 rw of oem parts. wat did u mean by we dont drive straight line cars? I luv the z which is y im gettin it but there is a huge performance gap between the tow one of the best motors to use for mods and can hit 1300 whp. The other is more looks than power. If u single turob a supra and no what ur doing u will make the viper look like nothing. Go to to4r.com and every single person on that site can crap on the viper. There is a guy who has 900 wh hp on oem parts.

supra is to expensive plsu dont want the same car as by bro. I like the z in looks more im just tryin to tell the facts not tryin to put the z down. I dont have the z yet ive just seen wat it can do and love it. Im just a fan of the supra and backin it up. Sry if im bein annoyin bro.
