the Skyline was available with a (mythical) VQ35DETT?

not according to Nissan... www.nissan.co.jp

largest Skyline motor to date is the RB26DETT, 2.6 litre inline-6

Sentry65 his name is Joe and I have his cell. He seems pretty reliable. He knows the guys at Vivid and Dynocomp well and has a fully built STI that runs low 11s at the track.

I dont know if youve seen it...its the silver one with the loud BOV and CF hood. ANyway I will get EXACT details for you guys because I know for a fact that his roommate is from Japan and does have some connections there.

I will keep you guys posted. He also said that NISSAN does have a 3.5 Liter TT Engine that puts out 400HP stock but I dont know how true that is.

P.S> Sentry was that you that went to Khron and Moss for the LL stuff?

Default which Skyline?

Which Skyline are we talking about? There is the Skyline 350GT aka Infiniti G35 here... but AFAIK, it's NA, no TT.

Unless he is talking about the GT-R, which hasn't even came out yet, and no one knows what engine they are using. There is no VQ35DETT available from Nissan right now. Maybe he meant a custom turbo setup...

He's probably talking about a twin turbo kit on G35coupe in Japan, hence a Skyline with a VQ, not an R34 Skyline.
The VQ35DE does not come in twin turbo form, only the VQ30DET is turbo, but that engine does not come with the Skyline. And as far as swapping, it would cost way more than $4500.

If it sounds too good to be true....

yeah ask him more Q's about the motor, what model skyline its from, what the motor code is. if he tells you its a vq35dett from any r32,r33, or r34, i say kick him in the face.

the only engine swaps ive seen were an sr20det and an rb26dett into the Z. and they cost way more than $4500 b/c you had to swap the tranny as well, they dont bolt up to Z trannies. you could spend $4500 on an rb motor and tranny alone, then pile on the cost of all the custom fab motor mounts, drivetrain, piping, labor, etc.

so yeah, id say kick him in the face.

Ill ask him some more ?s before I "kick him in the face"
I never claimed the info was "true" but was just running what the guy said by you guys because I knew members here would know more than I about the new SKYLINE and VQ motors.

Anyway I will call him today.

i'm interested as well, from the sound of it, it sounds like for 4500 dollars, he can make the VQ twin turbo for you.

if that is true, go for it and put on a TT.

for 4500 installed i'm down.
