Default Insurance Quote.

Single Male, 31, and clean record.

For Seattle Area.
AllState

Currently got a 94 Legend L Sedan - $1214/year with $500 ded 100/300 coverage.

Quoted

Legend + 350Z Touring = $1862, ~648 more/year. Does this sound right for weekend usage and having multi car discount?

350Z by itself if I get rid of the Legend (but it's my beater car?)

$1238/year.....I can't believe this 94 sedan vs. brand new sport car is only going to cost me $24 more. Go firgure.

Wow, that $1200/yr already sounds high to me.

I have an Explorer SporTrac (the practical side of me) that runs around $700/yr. I am 31, clean record with multicar discount.

Getting rid of a truck and getting the Z adds $150/yr. Hell, yeah I'll take the sports car.

<<<<<<--------As you can see I live in a high accident lawsuit area!

USAA just gave me a quote... full coverage except for $500 deductible.

Given the fact that I'm young (23), and that I have two tickets and an accident (my SP9000s didn't perform too well on ice), it's better than I had expected.

Right now, to insure my 1995 Honda Accord EX Coupe I pay 1035 / 6 months.

If I sell the Accord (which I doubt since I already paid it off and could use a 2nd vehicle), insuring the 350Z by itself $1259 / 6 months.

Both cars: $1568 / 6 months. That should go down since one of my tickets will disappear off my record in December.

It's a lot, but not too awful considering it's nearly a 300hp 2-seater toy...

EDIT: oh yeah, I live near near DC, and work in DC... car insurance is a tad pricey here...

No kidding pricey.

I thought Corpus was somewhat high with the lawsuit abuse (Ouch, my neck is kinda hurting) but not compared to what you are looking at.

I have full coverage with $500 deductible also through USAA.

Once I do defensive driving here, my bill will be the same for the 350Z and Passat (great wife car) as it is now for the SporTrac and Passat. How a truck is that costly I don't know.

Boy, I have forgotten those unde 25 insurance days I guess.

Clean Record
Discount for having home owners INS with State Farm also
$500 deductable

Current cost for a 94 Accord - $340 6Months
Estimate for 03 Performance Model - $652.46

How's this for high...

25 y/o
No points, clean all around.
Live in Northern NJ
2002 BMW coupe.

3,888!!!

I eventually got it down to 2100, but that was after shopping around for a while. Since this was my headache for the past 3 months, my only advise to you guys looking for insurance is to shop around. Trust me, it pays off in the end. I know I'll definitely be shopping around again in 2003 when I order my Z!!

Best of luck.

Which insurance company quoted you $3888 for a BMW? I've had NJ Manufacturers for my whole life, and can tell you that their rates might not be the most competitive, but after having one car stolen and another one totalled by a jackass behind me who was too busy talking on a phone to drive, I can tell you they are the best insurance company around -- no two ways about it.

If you can switch, I'd recommend giving them a try. Since you have no points, they'd probably be willing to take you.

NJ cure gave me that quote. I'm currently with AAA. They gave me the best quote. I checked with Liberty mutual, NJ cure....probably around 3 or 4 more ins. companies. My friend has NJ manufacturers, but he told me he had heard that they were not accepting new policies for the time being.

Insurance quotes are based on obviously driving record and zip code(location).I was given a quote of 1200 per year which also includes another car and my house on the same policy. Many accidents on the surface streets in my area.

For some reason, German cars merit higher insurance premium. When I called USAA for a quote on a 93 Corrado SLC (VR6), they said it would be $3260/ year. Same policy, but with my 95 Accord, $1000 / year, 95 Prelude VTEC $1140 / year. I just never understood why it was so high. Heck, even my 82 Audi Coupe cost the same amount to insure as my Accord, and it handled better and was only worth $2K...

32 yrs old - clean record:

$1,020 / year.

Not TOO bad, was hoping for a little lower, but since I got RIPPED by them in my twenties, guess it was time for a little break.

24y/o, 1 ticket on record, Suburban Baltimore Residence - Was quoted $1150 for 6 months. $2300 a year.

Double my current rate...but i'm gonna love my Z more than double ...and it should go down when i turn 25.

No house or Boat yet for the Umbrella policy.....just have the two cars coverage (350Z soon). Still waiting on the stock options to mature....three more years...then I can pay the house in cash. It looks like I'm going to have to sell some options and ESPP to finance this car....not bad for one year of service....I get a free 350Z???

Just got off the phone with Allstate, and when I trade in my 2000 Maxima SE for my Z, my insurance will go up a whopping 75 cents a month, or $4 per 6 months. I pay $392/6 month now, going up to $396.

39 with a clean record (except for those 2 tickets in 1979).

Well, I live in DC and my last Z was stolen. I'm not even going to look at rates before my Z gets here...too depressing. Hope the insurance company at least buys my dinner...maybe uses vaseline.

Full coverage - yes.
Indiana is a pretty low car-theft state (once you get away from Gary), and the laws here tend to favor the insurance companies, so we get good rates to compensate.

no tickets/accidents

State Farm who I've been with for 3 years quoted me 804 a year for less than 7500 miles annually and multicar discount. Not to bad for a 2 seater toy.
