It Has Begun!
Finally, after hunting, fighting with dealers, bickering, arguing and driving miles and miles into the Texas piney woods, I have my baby.
Sunset LeMans, touring, auto with just about everything except the nav. And I could not be happier.
I haven't had a lot of smiles and thumbs up around here -- hard to smile when your jaw is open. Everywhere I go people flood out to see it. I've emptied two gas stations and a Chik-Fil-A (the employees went out in shifts to gawk).
As I flatbeded it back to Central Texas from the Texas/Arkansas border a guy actually pulled up beside us on the highway, rolled down the window and took a picture. Two Porsches come flying by and slow down as they approach to look it over before zooming away.
Today as I headed into Autozone, a guy jerks into the space next to me and bails out to say, "I WANT TO CHECK YOUR CAR OUT!" as I haven't even squeezed out yet. (Still getting used to parking this as it turns much tighter than my 3G Eclipse, of course so did an aircraft carrier).
They are doing roadwork out near my house and the flag crew waved me down, and the entire construction brigade came over asking about the car and looking at it.
Folks, it don't get any better than that...
As someone's sig line so astutely states,
I LOVE THIS FREAKING CAR!!
