I got the same thing. I thought it was coming form the engine but then I remembered your post and paid more attention to it. I still can't be 100% sure where the source is but I do hear some extra noise after I hit >4K. I think it is actually some variable components in the engine, and the sound seems like it comes from the instrument area. Go listen to it again. It actually sounds like the engine is growling a little extra. (Kinda cool if it is normal).

Yeah, it's a subtle noise, and it sure could be coming from under the hood. I'd like to know what it is exactly.

I hope we can figure it out. Our cars have very low Vin's and our delivery was real close. I try not to let it bother me. We have a Z club meeting on thursday I will ask others.
