Unhappy My SS Z has termites!

It's finally stopped raining here, and the sun is out. So I go out to move my car, and it's covered in maybe 20-25 mostly dead termites, with some still kicking. (Or maybe their migratory ants. Dammit, I'm a programmer, not an entomologist.) No other car around here has a single 'mite on it, and there are lots of cars, and I've never seen anything like this before. Why do they do what they do?

Be sure to have your house checked out. This may have been a hatch from a colony, hopefully from your neighbor's house and not yours! Last time I checked, the big exterminator companies inspected for free. Those little critters can do big bucks damage if not controlled early on. Still waiting for my car so you're not getting much sympathy!

I guess even termites know a nice car when they see it. But I hope they didn't try to eat your paint.

No damage. They all washed right off.

Upon closer inspection, I'm almost sure they're just regular female ants going off to start a new colony. While I was washing the car, a couple more flew off the lawn and onto the car!

But there a few new pits in the front of the car from rocks or something that weren't there when I got it, and I'm still under 300 miles!!

From what I have seen, termites are white in color. so if they were termites you would know the difference between them and an ant.

Aha. These were black, with a hint of orange.

No ants here! I guess snow, ice and freezing temperatures can be a good thing!

LOL

Hey man. Now we know where programmers get all of those bugs they put in.

Hey, no fair! This just demonstrates the fact that they just "appear" -- and the programmer is never to blame. Now, if I could fix bugs in my code by just hosing down my laptop, I'd be a happy guy!
