BTW Z doesn't not fit the characterisitcs of a sedan but that of a sports car. I am curious how much you pay for insurance.

How on God's green earth does a 16 year old make enough money to buy a 35 thousand dollar car?
If you say that you work for your dad, or you were given some of the money, or whatever, yes you are spoiled and NO I am not willing to argue that point.
If you are 16 and think that it is OK to have a 35 THOUSAND DOLLAR CAR as your first one, then there is no use argueing with you over it.

ps. I drive an Integra that I bought working my *** off as a COOP in a computer company while I am still in college. I thought that I made a lot of money for still being in college but I guess I was wrong. And yes I bought it used.

Congratulations. Although I have to say, some of the posts about Super Black's paint have been scaring me somewhat, every picture I ever see posted, like this one, get rid of all those fears. I'll be happy if mine looks like that.

The point isn't that you shouldn't have a 35k car for your first car because there are lots of older people people than you with worse cars, the point is that with little driving experience you are probably going to crash it VERY quickly and when you do it is going to be a VERY VERY SAD DAY
I would have just kept the money and bought a POS 5k car that I could ram into a few things while still mastering how to drive (especially manual...)

Yeah, I could wreck the car, driving it with little experience. That's why I'm only driving it in my area until I get fully adjusted to using a manual.

It really has nothing to do with even driving experience. I know tons of kids in racing that could out race 95% of the members here on a racetrack. But the real issue is that no 16 year old, no matter how mature they think they are, is really mature enough to have this fast of a car on the street. Hormones will get the best of them and they will put themselves into unecessarily dangerous situations that even their great reflexes can't save them from. I just don't know what parents are thinking. It's just like all the 12 year old girls you see walking around that dress like freakin hookers.

I have never raced a car, and I don't plan to start anytime soon, especially since right now I probably can't shift fast enough to beat a stock V6 Mustang. So for now, this car will only be used as transportation to school, work, or shopping. Just because a teenager has a really car, it doesn't mean that he plans to race and act like an a$$hole when he gets on the street. Man, I shouldn't have even posted the car up. I already got into an argument about this same thing on the board a month ago. Oh well, that's what I get...

My concern was that he said he "earned it". I want to know how, if his parents want to risk his safety by putting him in a 290 hp rear wheel drive car when he has next to no experiance driving that is none of my business and it does not mother me. What bothers me is that he is spoiled and believes that he deserves it. I hope he is smart enough to get one hell of a job right ofter college or he is gonna be a moocher for a long time....

Kinda funny, all this "you'll wreck that car in no time" crap
My 1 st car was a '71 Nova and while not expensive it was promptly fitted with a built 350 pushing close to 500HP. No brakes (drum), no handeling, no traction, but it had some obscene acceleration. No wrecks at 17 yr old. If I can live through that car then that 16 yr old can live through the Z.
