has anyone removed their oem spoiler and left the hatch wingless?
i want to remove my oem spoiler and leave the hatch wingless.. clean and sleek
i'm afraid of what the paint looks like under the spoiler... has anyone done this and been dissapointed? how do the bodyshops take care of the two holes? can you tell there were holes there after the shop gets through w/ it? about how much should i expect to pay?
thanks
p.s. anyone have any experience swapping hatches?

The wing has double-sticky tape all the way around the outside of it, so there shouldn't have been any rubbing, but you will have to deal with the four big holes in the hatch where the screws/clips go through. Removing the wing MUST involve some body work and painting, unless you intend to drive around with the holes in the hatch, which doesn't exactly match your 'clean and sleek' goal.
any decent body shop could make it look good. even i could do it if i had the tools. ever seen shaved door hadles. could never tell they were there so four little holes would be easy. and some special cleaning **** with a good buffering would clean up the tape **** but you will still have to throw some pain over the holes area
but if you want my opion on if you should remove it or not i say leave it. looks pritty clean to me and is probaly more work than its worth.

this is a hard car to shave the rear spoiler holes... people have hard times getting the paint to match...
people who HAVE done this that I personally know purchased a new rear hatch. Was cheeper then the labor...
You see alot of times people trading for wingless hatches...

Would it be possible to get a Nismo body kit, sans rear wing and use it with the OEM rear spoiler?
