i just visited dealer for my tire feathering.
but guess f*cking what!
they said only 03 model is covered under warranty.
since mine is 04 model, they said i gotta purchase another tire for front which cost 660 installed. what kind of BS is that?
what am i suppose to do?

 

Personally, I'd call NNA and threaten them with legal action....

But just let them know the situation and even tho your car is an 04, you having 03 problems... BTW- I believe some 04's are covered under the warranty too, so make sure your dealership isn't jacking you around.

also, if you end up not getting these warrentied, please dont spend $660 on new tires, go get yourself some nice Nitto 555's for $300 from discount tire plus like $40 mount and balance.

 

I have an 04, had the front tire feathering start at about 5k. I took it in at around 9k when I found this site and figured out what it was. They replaced my tires eventually but they had to call NNA for approval. I would go back and not take no for an answer.

 

It sucks that you guys are having such a hard time with feathering on your cars. I had slight feathering, wasnt even making noises yet and my dealer replaced the tires without a problem. My car is an 04.5 too.

if you must.. get the tire onilne and have any place to mount it on for you. 660$ for one??? its the biggest joke

 

I've got an early 04 where I saw tire feathering and the dealer replaced my front tires no problem. I would call because they should replace them....

Heres my question.

I hear a roaring while slowing down, is this tire feathering? My car has 19k on it, I think it's just the tires about to give in, i looked and the front tires look like they wore fine...

I have heard people recommend ditching the stock tires and getting good aftermarket tires along with a tire alignment done by a shop(not nissan) that specializes in sports cars. Does this actually slow down the feathering in anyone's experience?

 

If you have an '04, the least that the dealer should do under warranty is the alignment. If you don't get an alignment done then new tires are useless.

 

My friend Initial D got his changed. He has a 04' model. He called 1-800-nissan1.

To add to the BS, I went the other day I have a 03' model.

this is hwo it all started.

I went in same thing tire feathering.
they asked me how many miles 22,000
he said it was only till 21.

my car was in there when it had 17,000 miles on it and they didn't mention crap about it, so guess who is going to call the number.

Also I found later that day that the rep that helped me is really close off getting fired...

I have an 04 track,at 5800 Nissan gave me an alinment then at 7455 another alinment a new tires.

 

From what I've generally read on this site, it seems to help eliminate it for the most part.

 

i had my problem at about 5k and took it back to the dealer, they played dumb at first, then spoke to my saleperson. got new tires and the problem fixed.

 

any word on the 05's?? still a problem?? I've only got like 6K on mine, but I haven't really looked at the tires.. I did notice my alignment wasn't perfect from the factory tho

^ this feathering issue pisses me off, cause I really want to drop my car, but then I know the dealer won't cover the feathering

i talked to the lead mech at nissan...he said it helps a lot when u get a reference #....they make a big deal because some 1 has 2 pay them..because we are not..some1 must...so get a ref # and you should get your tires replaced/alignment done for free with no problems at all...what they do is adjust your camber alignment which is 50% off from the factory to a minimum...which i 4got the numbers but will try 2 post later...that done your problem should be fixed...the issue is that many people freak out, get pissed and that will get them nowhere...you have 2 be nice, polit regardless if its company's fault or not...you are at their mercy
