Default Z availability?

I see that some preorder delivery dates are late fall. So when will I be able to find one waiting for me at the dealer, and buy one? Will I have to wait until next year before there is actual dealer stock? Thanks.

Dealers get to start ordering for stock in September...

They should get some in by December...I've heard 3-8 per month depending on size of dealer....

At only 3-8 a month they'd never make 30,000 for the first year its going to be more like 20-25 a month

If your going to buy on of the showroom floor, be prepared to pay a big premium.

I would suggest waiting till next summer when the price might stay near MSRP.

Not possible.

30,000 - 6500 = 23,500 cars for stock

If they produce the cars for 10 months (starting in Oct thru July of next year),
23,500 / 10 months = 2350 cars per month total

Base on your numbers,
2350 cars per month / 25 per dealership = 94 dealerships in North America

There's a lot more than 94 dealerships in N.A.

I think more like 600+ dedicated Nissan dealerships...if not more

Using 600,
2350 cars per month / 600 dealerships = 4 cars per month

They wont be done with the preorder cars till nov. and the 04 will be in production by june or july so there will be 23,500 cars to hit the market in the next 8 months, so it might not be as high as 25 per dealership a month (unless its a rockin dealership) but definately more than 4. I hope the numbers stay low, makes my z worth more.

I think Scaf posted something to the effect of over 1000 Nissan dealerships in North America.

Yeah, he's right, I looked it up....almost double what I expected....Although ACME Nissan of Stix, Montana prolly don't sell too many of these.

2350 cars per month / 1200 dealerships = 2 cars per month

Order the car if they want to mark it up. If you order and wait... you get the unmarked-up price as well as exactly what you want. Screw the dealers and their markups!

Default 1100 dealers

We are not sure how many we are getting for December..

However if all 1100 dealers got an avg. of 4 per month for the last 9 months of production that would be another 39600 plus the 6500 pre-orders....

Well if they plan on bringing out the convertible for Spring of 2003, then it only leaves us end Nov/Dec -> May/ beg. June until the 2004 comes out. Biggest gap is end Nov -> beg. June and that is 7 months. 30,000-7,000 pre-orders=23,000 non pre-orders over 7 months. 23,000/7 = 3285. 3285 cars per month / 1100 dealerships = ~3 a month.
