Why is there a hole below my gas cap?

Default Why is there a hole below my gas cap?

Is this supposed to be there? It looks like something corroded the metal or a rock shot through it.

ITS THERE INCASE YOUR GAS OVERFLOWS IT LEAKS OUT THROUGH THERE AND NOT ON YOUR PAINT

thats what i was thinking, but wouldnt the hole be round and smooth?

don't you think it would be there to allow any water/moisture that collected to drain out.

Thats a good point as well. They started doing it on the Z32 models and it is for gas overflow.

Seriously though its a drain hole, like stated above for water/moisture.

I don't believe Nissan made that hole, otherwise it would be closer to a perfect circle and smooth.

dude thats for that fuel intake so the fuel will shoot better through the lines..heard it goves you 10 rwhp
