I don't know a ton about turbos and superchargers, but it's my understanding that a supercharger will kick in before a turbo. A twin turbo might work better for the 0-60 time since the turbo itself is smaller and takes less energy to get it spinning.
I guess my question is if 5-6 seconds is enough time for a turbo or SC to kick in or not?

^^Yea, that's what I meant. Can a turbo or SC give power in that amount of time? I would hope that a stock Z could get 0-60 in under 6 seconds. I wouldn't even think it'd take that good of a driver.

With the proper traction and depending on RWP, I would guess, some would be able to get 5 seconds or under easily. those running the APS TT, with 400+ whp, should be able to nail a 5 sec or under 0-60 (depending on driving skills)

If you took the time to learn at what RPM to launch and if you learned how to shift into second without losing traction then yes....but it is an art that will take practice.
Your approach will have to change every once in a while depending on how much traction is left on your rubber. (Kind of like sex after an hour with a condom on) sorry just had to.....

Listen I know your new BUT its not all about 0-60.
1. 1/4 mile is a much more significant number
2. If all you want is a car that goes 0-60 super fast why are you on a Z website?
Toyo is a tire maker.
Yes you can spin your tires but you may want to take traction control off first Even a V-6 Mustang can spin its tires
Automatic Zs get less power to the wheels so I wouldnt count on it and launching an auto effectively with require manipulation of the brakes/gas pedal.

from what i understand, vipers get 0-60 times of 3.5-3.8sec but they have 345 tires on the rear. It also has a 3.07 final drive gear ratio which is quite a bit lower than the Z's stock 3.5
315 seems to be the absolute widest you can put on the Z without either major body work or having the tires stick out of the body
i think with similar hp to a viper, wide tires, and the auto's 3.2 final drive, you can get 0-60 times close to a viper, but still not quite as fast.
