Question Fairlady Z

Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum. I just recently purchased a touring model Z, and have a question regarding the Fairlady badging on it. What in terms of performance or anything else does this badge add to a 350? answers would be appreciated.

Other members will correct me if I'm wrong, but the Fairlady Z is simply the name of the 350Z in Japan. The Japanese get all the cool names while we get stuck with the numbers . Anyway, I assume it's pretty much the same car.

its about .5 ounces lighter than the stock '350Z' badge so thats worth a good .0000000000011hp. Seriously, the 350z is called a Fairlady Z in Japan. JDM freaks like to have it on cuz its...well....JDM!!!

Another question, thanks for answering the first one. Ok, the GT badging on it just means touring, or is that another JDM badge?

I think that's European, but I'm not totally sure. I think the GT badge in Europe means track version here in the US, but thats just a guess from reading Topgear.

yeah I bought it this past week, it has 22000 miles on it. it does have aftermarket intake and a nismo shifter in it, dont know what else it has yet, havent had much of a chance to look around and see anything else. I am having a hard enough time getting used to the MT with the crappy traffic around here, but I love the car

350GT is for the G35 which is the SKYLINE in japan.

The FairladyZ emblem was one of my first mods...

I think you're confused. Here in the United States, we use HP and lb/ft rather than PS and Nm. 294PS is equivalent of ~289HP, while 372Nm of torque is equivalent to ~274lb/ft of torque. So it's the same engine and output in both countries, just different ways of measuring it's power outputs due to our measuring system differences.

and I thought my Z came pre riced... it had the fairlady badge and the only thing nismo about it was the license place frame.

I would take the 350GT off. I left my fairladyZ badge but traded away the frame to someone that actually had nismo stuff on his car.

yeah, I probably will end up taking the 350GT off, replace with original 350z emblem. the nismo shifter is aftermarket. I dont think the previous owner did anything else to the Z, as from what I have seen yet.

i would have gone back to the 350z by now but I don't want to spend the $30 or so to buy the 350z emblem. So its going to stay as fairladyZ or I will take it all off and just have the nissan logo back there.
