0-60 Times
Im not trolling.. i've done a forum search and used google to the point of exhaustion
However, does anyone have a reputable online source for 0-60 times for z's (manual).
I've heard everything from 5.3 to 5.9

i think shumacher could do the 5.2 me the 5.5 and my mom would do the 5.9. so i guess that means the car is capible of a 5.2 but its gona most likly do a 5.4 with an exsperianced driver and a 5.8 with some one that is just learning.

Anyway, I've found that most American magazines tend to report a 0-60 time in the mid-5 second range, while British magazines tend to give it a 0-60 time in the low-6 second range. The only magazine that I have in my possession right now that lists the 0-60 time for the 350Z is the UK mag Evo, and it lists it as 6.1s to 60, and 14.8s in the quarter mile.

Yeah the new Z has 300HP but 14lb. ft lb. LESS TQ so that may play a factor as well.
Who knows maybe you can hit 60 in 2nd gear with with the new 7K reddline...is there different gearing?

have the clutch in, shifter in first
rev up, start it
shift to 2nd and move you hand back up to the button
once it hits 60, stop it
it takes some practice but hey, at least its something to do when youre on the front line at the red lights

Realistic time for an average person is probably around 5.8 seconds... Most magazines report around 5.5, but thats with people who are pretty good at driving....

I do think the track version (2005) will accelerate faster, it may have less torque but it has a better torque curve so it may accelerate faster, I don't think the 35th anniv. will, because of the different wheels.

Mine will do 5-60 in less than 5.... But seriously, when stock, I had a low-end HP engine (about same EU Zs -- 275ish hp) and I could not break 6s to 60. So, as they say, times will vary...

I have the January 2005 Road and Track in front of me, looking at the "road test summary". The 350z Track has a 0-60mph of 5.8sec and a 1/4 mile of 14.4@99.7. (assuming they are speaking of 2004 track models)
I too, have read that article you speak of at Barnes and Nobles (I unfortunately didn't buy it), that the 35ae and new 2005 track shaved 0.2 seconds off. But I thought that they shaved 0.2secs from the 1/4 time, not 0-60. I don't remember, but I do recall feeling disappointed. When you get a chance, try to double check your statment.
