Default Is it just me . . .

. . . or does the Z's profile remind anyone of the Porsche 911?

I'm not saying Nissan ripped them off, but in my opinion, the Z looks even better than a 911. I think most Porsches (except for the GT2) are ugly.

I am a Porsche enthusiast and love the 911s but I have to admit the slope of the Zs rear hatch is soo much sexier than the 911s.

I believe that "Z" design was porsche inspired. I could be wrong. It wouldn't be the first time.

Well since the Z was designed around the looks of the 240Z, which was designed by an ex-Porsche designer, yes it does match the profile of a Porsche.

LOL. This explains my infatuation w/ the Z. I've been trying determine which daily I want next, and the Z is at the top of the list. (You've probably seen that in some other threads)

Anyway, here's my fun car:
(pic from when I got it new)
This shows the back end, and yes, I think it's similar to the Z

Anyone have over head shots of the Z? It would be interesting to compare:

This is the closest thing to overhead shot I have.

I am not even gonna pretend to say that my Z is just as sexy as the 911. The Z has a couple lines I like better, but the 911 turbo is so sweet! I like the price on the Z better but I know I would get a 911 turbo if I had the money.

i think the Z looks better than any porsche - not kidding either, i think a lot of porsches look like they have a saggy *** and weird angles in their designs

Love Porches but today in the morning someone parked a Ferrari 360 in the parking garage at my work. I WAS LIKE.... damn it... out of ALL days I had to leave my digital camera at home today.... ARGHHHHHH.
wildone_106 if you read this go down to the lowest level of parking garage and check it out. I was drooling over it for 5 min. at least.

Yes. I'm a car nut and really love Porsches. This is my 3rd 996 and I plan to keep it quite a while. At least until the 997 Turbo comes out.
I road race quite a bit and do a lot of other things with PCA.
I'm a moderator on at 6speedonline.com and funcarsonline.com as well. I just like 'em.

I also really like the Z however which is why I'm here. I'm thinking of getting one or a G35 for a daily driver.
I used to have a BMW 330 and sold it, so I'm looking for a replacement for it.

The Z is just so darn pretty. I was driving behind one home from the airport yesterday. I kept speeding up and checking it out then dropping back. I really like it from the back although I know others think that's the most boring part.

That's the previous generation, 993, style Turbo.

That's one of my favorites too.

Have you test driven a 350z yet? What were your impressions of the car? I am pretty happy a car enthusiast like yourself is impressed with the 350Z!

I drove one very briefly about 2 years ago when it first came out. I really liked it then, but it was too brief to get a detailed impression. I plan to get by a dealer when I have some time and really get to drive one more.

I have seen them on the track with me, and I'm always captivated by its look. I really like the way they look. I also remember from driving it, that I really liked the turn-in. It's very precise and easy to control. Also, the interior and the seats are exactly what sports car seats should be. The seats of the Z are much better than my seats I can say that for sure.

When I get a longer drive of one, I'll give a more detailed write-up. Also, I'll see if I can dig some old footage of chasing a Z around Texas World Speedway and post that.

Ok... I found this little video clip and cut it down to show only the 350Z.
I was in my previous 911, a 2002 996 C2.

When I test drive a 350 and really run it, I'll post another thread regarding my thoughts.

350Z at Texas World Speedway

PS. It's 13 MB. Right-click, save as.
