Default Gas cap...hanger or loose

If loose, is there a holder on the door?

Default hanger

I think it should be a law that all gas caps should be attached to the car by a strap or whatever you call it. We should get Sen. McCain on this instead of the campaign finance crap.

holders add unnecessary weight. id rather not have the strap nor the holder, for performance sake.

The little plastic strip that attached my gas cap snapped on my avenger two months ago I'd prefer no attachment....one less thing to break.

I hate the strap attached to some gas caps. I prefer having the holder to sit it on the panel. I hope you were joking about the weight.

my strap broke too, what a pain. My VW has the best solution, two slots in the gas cap allow it to hang on the side of the filler door this eliminates the extra weight of the holder and the two slots make the gas cap that much lighter.

Duct tape and a rag won't weigh too much. Just rip off whatever it comes with and go this route if you're concerned about weight.

I used to like them attached, until I figured out you could put the cap under the gas pump handle to keep it running if the gas station doesn't have those handle holders on them. So, I hope it isn't attached.

I always lose them...

I remember one time driving up to the gas pump and saying to myself...."some idiot left their gas cap on top of the pump"....then I got out to get gas....yeah

you should lobby the Sierra Club. Say something to the effect that a uncapped gas tank will release more pollution than car on the freeway.

It short time, congress will pass that law.
