Default Damm; another defect...

I wash my car for the first time and I notice this line stretching across the windshield (not a cracked line...more like a bonded line as if the glass was bonded there from 2 pieces). The funny thing it is only visible if the winshield is wet. With the windshield wet and the line visible, I am able to run my nail and feel an ever so slight bump.

I visit Bricks Z's house just to meet up with him and he concludes it must be residue from the plastic wrap...and offers to give me a blade to try to remove it. I try it and was extremely happy...the line disappeard where I passed the blade. I drive back home eager to get the rest of the line off. Crack open a brand new blade from a box opener...and proceed to remove dreaded line...and it turns out. It wasn't coming off..and I was like What the F??? It turns out the line disappeared at Bricks Z's house because the blade took off all the water in that area when I tried it and concealed it.

It's a shame, but looks like I will have to replace the entire windshield as I will not be able to put up with a line appearing every time it rains; and when it's wet..it does look like a big long crack...just thicker and not so sharp as a crack.

This sucks

I'll see if I can get some pictures posted in the next few minutes...

Here is a good angle to see the thickness of the line...

Here is one with no flash..and head on...so you can imagine what I see from the inside...

This picture came out blurry, but burry as it is..you can still distinguish the line against the solid color interior.

looks like a defect in the glass. bring it in, they should be willing to replace it, if not fight for it, they have to fix it.

Oh weird. Never seen that before. New things everyday.

Sorry to hear that. I would think they would catch that at the factory. Oh well.

hmm, are you sure its in the glass and not just on the surface coating? A windshiled guy can probably buff it right out if its on the surface, Ive seen them take out some pretty nasty stuff.
