in a race im sure that both drivers excellent shifting the Z will pull more as soon as you shift into 3rd. I tried this 4 times,....granted im not the best at launchin g and he was and the TQ diff is apparant , im talking stock for stock. Also, .....roll the windows down when ya do it, man i do love the sound of the Z when you get on it. Made my friends S2k jealous. He was like" i ****ing love the sound of those damn cars" ....lol....now its time to test modifed. All in all a Z would own a s2k in the straights power and Tq and overall driving both cars would tell you that. IN teh twisties the Z would have to be lightned to compete with attention giving to that damn back sliding out more. With that it would be a great race.

from a roll though, the S may beat you... as mentioned earlier, the S really starts to shine in a drag race from the top of 3rd through all of 4th gear... in 5th it starts to lose wind and the Z will pull away so plan accordingly if the stakes are high
I would get a friend that can drag really good to test drive an S2000 wait around the corner for him then try a couple of test races just to see what would happen before racing for 1000 bucks, and maybe you should add a 50 shot for back up just in case he start pulling on you. hahaha
Don't crash the s2000 while racing :-)

or bet alot of money on the bet and show up and ask one of these twin turbo guys or high powered NA setups to borrow there car for a race. HA ahahhaha that would be great. ...if you really want a way to beat him bad without even touching your engine get drag radials or slicks. YOu will rip him out the whole so bad. Might need KY lol
my mods: intake, exhaust, cats, plenum, aam ecu reflash
s2k mods: intake, exhaust, rims
2 races from 25 mph: he started in 1st gear, i started in 2nd. he was able to stay with me until he shifted into second, at which time i kept walking away from him
1 race from 25 mph, both in 1st gear: i kept walking and walking and walking away from him.
so if your friend truly is stock and not running slicks, you should win with you mods of:
"headers, intake, and pulley and...a technosquare ECU reflash.."

Simple solution, just ask him to pop the hood before you commit to race him. You don't have anything to hide and neither should he. If he backs down when you ask him to pop the hood then something is fishy. Look for the obivous things, but then also look closely for a hidden nitrous line plumbed along the intake. A small spary and that could put him over you easily. Other than that, just like the rest of the guys say, you got him. Now go make some cash and come back to report.
Well, I'm still waiting on a definitive answer from this guy. I told him anytime he's ready, we'll go. But yet, no answer. I think he's full of $hit...either that or he's getting his motor built!!
