S TWO K, thanks for the fyi, actually i think the wheels are pretty straight, from what i saw.

BigMoeTaki42, thanks for the good words and i am sure i will have it back to normal soon, along with some other goodies

Z Boy, yeah i think the same way too. I will probably just take it to the dealership, so they can fix if undercar damage as well.

Man, i really love people on this site, you guys have been so nice and helpful.

Doesn't look totalled to me. Just file a claim with your insurance and it should be taken care of.

blah thats nothing.. i think they total it when the cost of repair equals up to 60 or 80 percent of the car's value... i can't remeber which one it was but the car doesn't look bad... If it turns out to be totaled then you will get a good amount of money for the car... either way you will be able to get another Z if it is totaled.

I got into an accident with my Z when I first got it. I was making a left turn at a light and lost traction shifting into 2nd gear and I ended up hitting a curb with my front left wheel. The side skirt and splashguard on the same side were damaged as well. Both rims needed to be replaced and they had to touch up some paint in places. The major damage was in the front left where a control arm had snapped in half. The entire suspension on that from left wheel was replaced...shocks, spring, bearings, control arm, etc.

I was VERY afraid that the car would drive like crap, but it feels the same as it was brand new. I wouldn't worry about anything.

Ditto, we need to be very cautious whenever driving this car on bad weather or simply just wet pavement. It's alot different than the way it drives in dry weather, and trust me on this.

^ i learned that hard way too... rain = baddddd, slow down when takn turns, especially when takn a right onto a road, dont step on the gas, then do a 720 on a 3lane road then almost land it perfect but have your front left wheel hit the curb... damnit..

No way will it be totaled. I just had buddy get his PPW rearended by a 16 year-old in a 70's Caddy (resident alien with no insurance, of course). This came after $8000 worth of undercariage repair from a rain accident. Total output from insurance $21000... hate to say it, but your stuck with a CarFax nightmare when you go to sell it... did you get a ticket to go with it?

Default Almost same thing happened to me

Yo,

Glad to hear you and your girl are cool. Its interesting what happened to you because back in November a very similar thing happened to me. 32 degrees outside, it had been raining forever (i live in so cal), new brakes, new tires. I drifted a corner and lost control. I ended up off the road, between a big fence post and a big tree with a lot of low lying branches.

Air bag did not deploy. Bent the rear left tire in a bit (tie rod I think it was). Ripped off the front bumper when the tow truck was pulling the car out (no way to avoid that because of the boulder I landed on top of). The tree caused almost every single panel to be scrached. Most of the damage was superficial, body work.

All I wanted was for the car to be restored to its original form. I spoke with a variety of people (especially the tow truck operators) and had them recommend shops.

The parts for this car are apparently fairly expensive. I crashed a Acura way back in the day and I remember that air bags were ridiculously expensive. Yours probably shattered your winshield as the tree branches poked a few holes in mine.

So long as the frame is okay, I'll bet your car can be restored as good as new, assuming you have enough insurance coverage. I got my car out of the shop a few months later and its as good as new. I installed a set of Tein Flex + EDFC and man the ride is even better than new (I have an '03 with the crappy *** bouncy suspension).

All my friends (the ones with heavily modified cars of various breeds) told me my crash was a golden opportunity to mod out my car. Really I just wanted my car back as fast as possible and as it was originally.

Anyways, I had good insurance and good coverage so I paid my deductible ($1000) and the rest was taken care of. I also had 1 month car rental coverage.

I would bet that with the air bags and other damage, the estimate will be pretty darn high. Someone mentioned 60-80% the value of your car and they total it? You might hit that range with the airbags deployed.

Hopefully this helps. **** happens and everythings a learning experience. For me, this accident was definitely some kind of warning. I crashed in the middle of nowhere with hardly any traffic and no cell reception. I had to walk a mile or two in the 32 degree weather with a t-shirt and jeans on for a mile to get cell reception. Yeah, I'm stupid, but I do learn, albeit slowly...

Reply to this or PM me if you want greater details. I'm no expert, but I do have a little experience with crashing into things.

These things can be stressful, but they happen every single day to thousands and thousands of people. Don't put to much stock into it.

My z was totaled with slightly more damage than that, I took it to the best and most expensive shop in town they said 25000+ to fix. Your first goal IMO is to get it totaled DO find the best shop to do the estimate and the work if they decide to fix it. If you get it totaled NEGOTIATE with them you can definately get a good deal from the insurance company. I owned my z for 8 months and 9000 miles and it only cost me 600$ +plates and insurance. Good luck, If you have any questions just ask bro.
