I just finally figured out that you can turn the horn off when you lock the car lol. I have never seen it in the forums or anything before. Everyone probally knows already how to do it but this thread may help a few peeps out. Only thing you have to do it hold the unlock and lock buttons on the remote for like 3 seconds and then thats it! For all you guys that know this already thats cool, just thought that some people on this forum may not.

That is pretty cool. Does anyone know why this would be useful?

I like to hear the horn when I lock the car to make sure it locks. When it opens it doesn't honk which is ok since I'm getting in.

When I got my Z it was sent on silent. I never knew you can turn on the horn until I went to a local Z meet and everyone was locking their cars.

I turned mine off the first chance I got after it was delivered to my house. I already knew about it though because my wifes Pathfinder was the same way.

The one thing I think is strange is it changes the flash of the lights.

The horn is so soft that I like it honking so that I know it's locked. The range of my fob is only like 5'-10' so if I walk away too far before locking it, without the honk I might not notice the lights flashing.

However, on our Ford Escape, the horn is just about the loudest thing I've ever heard. I try to get as far away as possible before locking that thing....and I still flinch every time. At least the Z has a soft honk.

Here's one a few people don't know. Inside the large storage bin behind the passenger seat, there's a hidden stash compartment.

I wasn't picking on you specifically. It just seems as though there isn't a week that goes by in which somebody asks a lame question (How much pressure should I put in my tires?) or discovers a unknown feature (Hold the unlock button to roll down the windows.) that is easily found in the owners manual.

You spent $30K on a car, don't you think you should take a few minutes to become familiar with it's features?????

I got my car with 9k miles on it from a used dealership and the car didnt come with the owners manual. I didnt feel like paying a lot to get one from the dealer, so it took me a pretty good while to find one on ebay.
