Default Has anyone used Specialty Formulations MTL-P in their 6sp tranny?

This is one of the only 75w85 full synthetic GL-4 gear oils available. Info here:

Has anyone tried this yet in their 350Z?
I've tried a number of specialty gear oils from Royal Purple and Redline in an attempt to 'cure' the rough 1=>2 cold shifts... with very limted success. I've even tried the OEM fluid, but it was worse.

Am I missing something?? I can't see any API service rating. You would need to see that it is GL-4 and not GL-5.

If you can find an Amsoil dealer that has some Series 2000 75W-90 gear lube left, it will solve your problem (it did mine!!). The newer formulations are GL-5 and not recommended for the 6MT.

It says GL4 in the product description on the main product page. You're right - GL-5 isn't for manual transmissions with yellow metal syncros.
