Default New Road and Track article and the 350Z beats the Boxster S on track!!

............but they both lose to of all things a Chrysler Crossfire! A little Nismo $$ sure helps the Z perform even on a very tight track like the Streets of Willow.

Haha, the Z's engine w/ an exhaust versus a Boxster S and the Crossfire SRT, a 300 hp AMG supercharged engine. Thats a fair comparison and worthwhile comparison. I don't understand why the didn't put the NISMO headers on it as well.

What they should've done was get the new 2005 Track edition and sport it up w/ Nismo stuff. That would've put the Z over 300 hp (read: bhp, not whp).

Porsche guys used to hate it when I stomped their cars at time trials. All you really need for a very competent track Z is the S-Tune Suspension, a good mechanical LSD, some steel one piece brake lines, big brakes (Track Model Brembos are fine), and some track brake pads.

Rubber other than stock would make a huge difference too. Look at the skidpad numbers on those tires.

I'm sure the New Boxster S would give a good race.

Interesting article. I'm always amazed that the Z can hold it's own against cars $20k more expensive.

A few thing I didn't get....the Nismo exhaust, suspension, and stickers cost $7k?!? What? They must have mean the whole Nismo package cost $7k...but this Z didn't have all of that.

And for "Style" the Crossfire got a 15/15 and the Z a 10.8/15. That's ridiculous. I mean just look at this thing:

that article came out sept 2004. so its not really new. 2005 (new) boxster s would most likely beat the z.
