I Think They Are Marketing Nissan...
The Z's sell themselves. I think they might be trying to market the entire 2003 product line using the Z as a showcase. A sort of "Nissan: Innovators, Makers of the Legendary Z - have you seen our other new products by the way?" kind of thing...a part of their comeback strategy
They aren't trying to sell the 350Z - they're trying to sell Nissan as an industry leader.

How about the Maxima commercial with the paint peeling off from the high speed? If that doesn't scream thin paint, I don't know what does! LOL

If you want to see an incredible commercial for the 350Z, just take a look at this file that I still have on my web site. It was actually made for the Tokyo Auto Show, but there is nothing like it in the U.S. Nissan could scrap all of their other TV commercials and just run this one, but then everybody would run out to buy a Z.
You can play it in Windows Media Player by left clicking on the link, or save it (recommended) with a right click - it is about 12MB:

Basically, WE are the advertizing for the 350Z and Nissan doesn't even have to pay us! In fact, we paid them. Eventually they will have to put out more commercials/print ads, but right now, they don't need them.
