Unhappy Anxiety is Killing me,

Realisticly guys,

What do you think $31.7K O.T.D will buy me on a 350Z;
(eg. Model, Accessories,etc.). Do I stand with a good chance at buying my first Z. I'm so thrill at the fact that there is a possibility for me to get the car that I just can sleep thinking about it, maybe if I have some re-assurance from the savy's in this forum a amybe able to sleep better.

Depends on what you want, new or used? New, you can probebly get a base or enthusiast model w/out nav. Used, you can get a good touring/track model w/nav for less than $31k.

Why not just put down a big down payment on one?

I Have a conversation with salesman about the car I want to buy. I told him that I want 2005 PPW 350Z Performance with just floormat and Kick plates. He said to me that internet sales are treated better than anybody else, I started the inquiries over the web, so he said that all they ask is for 3% over invoice.

He then call me back to tell me that he found the car but, this one has also the Aerodynamic pkg. Then I ask him, What is the price for the vehicle? He said to me $30960 plus tax, license and tag. We talk a little more about prices and he mention that the MSRP for this combo was $32420 and that the invoice price was $29865. Finally I ask him what would be a roughly estimate at the end of the purchase and he said close to $33250 OTD price.

I told him that the budget I have to spend in this vehicle is $32k. Then, later I though about me telling him the budget and I was pretty mad at myself. I went home and research this dealer website and I found a PPW 2005 350Z Performance in there lot with a MSRP value of $32420 but the interesting thing was that this car was fully loaded,
Year: 2005
Make: Nissan
Model: 350Z
Odometer:
Trim: Performance
VIN: JN1AZ34D75M605886
Transmission:6-Speed
Stock number:
Interior color: Carbon Cloth
Exterior color: Pikes Peak White
Options: Carpeted Floor Mats, Aerodynamic Package, Aluminum Kick Plates, Cargo Convenience Pkg, Carpeted Trunk Mats, Splash Guards, 2005 350Z PERFORMANCE, CHARCO, Performance, 6-Speed Manual
And the other thing is that all the values that he give me, correspond to this configuration because I went to Edmund.com and I got this Info
which don't match with what I originally ask him for. The salesman told me that he will talk to his manager to see if they can go down to $32k OTD price. If they do so, Do you guys think this is a good deal if they honor the fully loaded configuration. What are your thoughs on this, please.

Jose

IMO, your gonna be hard pressed to get a Performance that loaded OTD for less then or around $32k.

Depending on how much your sales tax is in the area, $32k OTD w/ all those accessories would be right at invoice or possibly just below, again depending on what your sales tax is.

My '05 Track should be around $35700 OTD (8.25% sales tax) come purchase time. Your talking about a $3500 difference between the two models... thats a lot of money.

Just my .02.

Armitage,

Sales tax is 6.25 % for the state of Texas. How about the Performance with Aero, Floor Mats and Kick Plates for $32K. The salesman call me back today but I couldn't talk to him about what he was able to do. I'm going to call him tomorrow and find out about the new numbers.

Well, I'm not sure of your ZIP, so I used mine. The difference will be slight, but I don't think it will be that much.

In my area, Invoice for a PPW Performance with the options you listed is $31,084. With taxes added on at 6.25%, your looking at $33026 and change. Keep in mind thats exactly invoice, so it'll be more depending on how much you get the deal for. And you still have to add in license and registration fees.

armitage,

My zipcode is 78758. This number of $31084 is for what configuration and is this number MSRP or Invoice price. NOne of the numbers I have match yours. I'm assuming it is for "Aero, Floor mats, Kick plates".

So yes, the price I listed was exactly Invoice with all the options you asked for, Aero Package, Kick Plates, and Floor mates at my zip code. If you price a new car on Edmunds.com, you can do it for your zip code.

The invoice value I get is $29650 using my zipcode and the three accessories I mention. I'm using in Edmunds.com some tool call TMV (True Market Value) to determine MSRP, Invoice and TMV, which is a roughly estimate of what people is paying for the vehicle I'm looking in my area.

I'm also calculating that the Taxes in this vehicle should be in the area of $1908. I'm as well taking into account this dealer practice of adding 3% over invoice to all sales and I'm estimating that license and registration will be in around $250 (not so sure about this one).

29650----Invoice
1908-----Tax
890------3% over invoice
250------license/tags
____________
$32698-----OTD price

What do you guys think about this numbers. If I can get them to come down to $32k, Is this a good deal.

Jose
