Default F***ing Paint Chips

Man... I go out to my car and I notice 2 small white spots on my hood. Thinking it was bird crap, I take a closer look. They are chip marks! All the way down the primer.

WTF man... They need to make some bulletproof paint. Now I'm going to have to use that lame Nissan touch-up paint and it won't match (I have Daytona Blue).

I have the touch up pen with the clearcoat and some langka. I've used langka on the touch-up paint and it worked well, but I haven't used it on the clearcoat pen. Will langka smooth out clearcoat that comes in the pen too?

Either do a repaint when it gets bad or put a clear bra on it. Most people won't even notice the clear unless they're looking closely. And whatever you do, don't put one of those old school leather bras on it unless you like the look, that is.

Yeah.. I'm afraid I'll ahve to repaint it someday. The problem is that you rarely get chips on the hood. You get them more on the bumper. I guess when I get my body kit someday, I can ask them to paint the hood too.

I was going to do the clearbra as my first mod! However, I got the Z in November and the installer told me to wait until it warms up (around March) because it would likely affect the curing of the bra. So I took his advice. It's march now and it's totally not worth doing the clearbra now because my front bumper looks like it got sandblasted. There are tiny sand sized dents in it. *sigh*

Winter weather sucks ***. I need to move down south.

Well dang it... that's not very reassuring. Wasn't there some kind of new paint product that's built into the plastic or metal? I could've sworn someone made something like that, where the panels are already colored. They need to implement that into our cars so we don't have to deal with the paint BS.

yeah, I've got 2 good rock chips in my hood....one right down toward the nose and one about 3/4 of the way up the hood toward the windshield which I don't think clear bra would have helped. All the roads around here are torn up bad right now for widening projects anyways so once they're done I'll just go get my hood sprayed because I know I've got more coming

Yah, clear bra would be a good investment. For some reason the facroty nissan paint is really soft which is odd, cuz usually the stock paint jobs are baked really hot which is what makes them soooo hard to mess up. Overall, its ok tho, those were prolly some pretty big rocks that made chips like that.

I have a chip or two on my roof too.

What kills me is how fast a dead bug will eat the paint off these cars.

That's pretty much my only complaint about my car. No tire problems at 16,600 miles, no tranismission problems, just the stupid paint.

I wash this thing more often than any other car that I've ever owned and it's still not enough. It's like I need to wash it daily...

those rock chips are horrible. I'm sure they wish they had a clear bra too.

these dudes - you KNOW they're wishing right now they should have put on a clear bra

I have clear bra on the whole front end (Hood, Fenders, Full Bumper....) and i still get rock chips....
Rock chips is inevitable on our car. Clear bra sure helps, but the main problem is still the paint.
