Default Drive home with paint covered?

I know some people have considered or even taken delivery of their Z with the shipping protector sheets still stuck to the paint, driven home, and cleaned the car themselves. This way they know things are done right with no harm to the surface.

Question: Wouldn't there be a concern that there could be a paint flaw or ding that you couldn't see without the dealer cleaning the car prior to delivery? Looks like the dealer could claim that a nick or ding in the paint caused by the truck driver was, instead, caused by you in your garage after you got it home.

Is this a concern? Wouldn't it be better to have the dealer remove the sheets and wash the dirt off (and do nothing else to the paint)?

Thanks. Just trying to learn.

Who did this? I did, for one.

After an inspection of my local dealer's predelivery area, I did NOT want the same high school dropout who casually prepped all the Sentras and Altimas for delivery TOUCHING my 350Z. This one particular guy was dragging a filthy body bristle brush and soiled sponge all over the new cars.

The paint protection sheets should be carefully removed. I found no defects in the paint under the sheets.
