dealer headaches
grrrrr
til now i STILL have not ordered! oh maii....what to do what to do!!!!
my trip to el monte nissan today was absolutely fruitless...perhaps the guys there were mad because they weren't given the day off for cinco de mayo...but they were awfully rude and impatient. asked $1000 down nonrefundable, said there might be markups when the car came in.
might be markups when the car came in? what in the hell is that about? oh well. still looking for a legit dealer. maybe they'll be more flexible next week when cinco de mayo is over and they're sober again from all that drinking.

My best advice is to call every dealer close to you. Bluff them if you have to. The $1000 non-refundable deposit is standard if I understand right. So far I haven't heard of anyone bypassing that. But they should at least agree to a set price.

Who did you talk to at El Monte Nissan? Because they are an AutoNation dealership and AutoNation has specifically told all of their dealerships that they could not charge a mark up or else face severe penalties/fines. I think it might be because they possibly have something worked out with Nissan, not sure but I do know that they should not be allowed to charge a markup. The reason why I know is this is where I ordered my 350Z back in March of this year. The person taking care of all the pre-oreders and subsequently the guy to talk would be Robert Madden or Matten. He is the fleet Manager, he would the guy that knows most if not very thing that is possibly known about the Z pre-orders. You probably talked to some stupid salesman that didnt know squat and was talking out of his ***...I am pretty sure that you did not talk to RObert cuz he typicallly does not work on Sundays unless for a appointment. Anyhow, give them a call tomorrow and ask for him. Their number is (626)350-8868. Good luck and if he ask, please tell him that I refered you to him. Thanks
I would love to help you with the purchase of your 2003 350Z...

You can definitely trust Dan. Give him a call what have you got to lose? Nothing, but the Zcar of your dreams to gain.
He's my salesman but I get nothing from this endorsement, except knowing you'll get quality treatment. The dealership is top shelf , I'm on car #6 from them.

From what I understand shipping is not that expensive compared to the markups some dealers want. (ball park $750 ) e-mail him if you want more details. Nothing to lose a lot to gain, ZOOOOOOM!

I got MSRP with $500 REFUNDABLE deposit in So. Cali
Give Michael Black at Douglas Nissan in the city of Orange. Tell him you spoke with Eric who pre-ordered the White Enthusiast model.
I spoke with him 2 days ago, and he still had 4 slots left for the first allotment, but to be delivered in October/early November.
He will not BS you.
I was at the dealership for 10 mins... Very friendly, and quick and easy. No haggling at all.

Hey BullishZ, how do they already know that the last 4 of their allotments will be coming in during Oct/Nov? I am getting scared again... cuz I am in the 1st alotment at a dealer and I thought I would be driving my car in August or Sept. at the latest. Any info would be great... thanx

Before you secure a purchase with a dealer out of state, you might want to do some research with the DMV -
A friend of mine bought a motorcycle on Ebay (the seller was in Michigan). He could not bring it into CA unless it had atleast 7,500 miles on it. Not sure, but I think it is a cute way to for the State to make sure they get their sales tax on new vehicles....
Just an FYI

Knihc, I strongly suggest you call Michael Black at Douglas Nissan of Orange before thinking of going out of state. I even made arrangements with him for me to be there when my Z rolls off the truck. If you buy out of state, how do you know the grubby hands of the service guys won't de-virginize your Z by launching it at 6k rpm and joyriding your precious beauty?
The autonation nissan dealer in north seattle, obviously hasn't got the message..they were charging a higher non-refundable deposit and $5000.00 over MSRP and they told me they were going to charge more once they got rid of their first 5 preorders. What a bunch of greedy A$$holes.BTW their service sucks even more than the new car sales manager.....they are deceitful and liars...do not buy any car there unless you want to walk in backwards with a special **** pen attachment
