A Dream Cruise
Well today the Detroit Z club had a small meet on Woodward Ave. Some of you may have heard of the Woodward Dream Cruise that takes place on a Saturday in August. I found out yesterday on Discovery channel that it is the largest gathering of classic cars in the world. Last year almost 2 million people turned out for the day (one Day!) to either cruise or watch. This cruise started off in 1995 as a charity event. They expected 10,000 people and a quarter of a million showed. Well today we met at a lot in the middle of where the action takes place. On the way there I saw Lotus, coutless vettes, classics, supras, lots of exotics, etc. We had a constant group of visitors rolling through to check out our cars. it was a great 70 degree day.
I have to say that even with the crappy roads in Michigan, there is no place like it for car lovers. I work for a car company and so did most of the people that stopped by our little meet. Two of the guys in our group work for Nissan. One of the guys said he passed by a GTO (new and old) meet on the way home.
If you ever have a chance to visit the Woodward Dream Cruise in August, do it because until now I never cared to go. I will be there this year.
