Default Clear Bra Install

Just got the 3M placed on the Z and it looks really good. There are a couple small small ripples in the front, but the installer said that they should go away in a couple of days. Is this ture? I have a 5 year warranty, so if i have problems he will replace it. The install only cost me $560.

I don't have an answer for your question, sorry.

Instead, I have a question of my own... for the $560, did you get the bumper section done too, or just the hood area? I am curious as to what is "normally" done.

Thanks,
Todd

yes, it smooths out as it dries. leaving it in the sun will quicken the process.

Default Re: Re: Clear Bra Install

I had mine done for $600 installed and that included 40 mil (thick!) on the headlights, 8 mil on the hood, back of mirrors and front fascia. I had a problem with the install not being correct and after the holiday they are replacing all but the mirrors. Upon installation, all looked good, but after 1 week, striations (squeegee lines) began to appear. Yesterday, 10 days after install, I returned home from a 200 mile drive to do a photo shoot in Northern AZ. and found 2 bubbles forming in the driver side hood crease. The moral of the story here is that it may take some time for flaws to show up. Be sure you discuss this potential with your installer beforehand. In the end, I am fully pleased with the concept and advantages of the clear bra over the conventional front cover. Regards, Jim
