trunk rust wtf

Default trunk rust wtf

i have about 20k on my car and im getting rust in the trunk where the weather seal is. If anyone has some info on this i would appreciate it.

where exactly are you talking about? Where the hatch seals to the body?

its on the body just under the black lining / weather seal ... its like right where the black tube touches paint as you open the trunk, not on the hatch/trunk door but on the body where it sits.

Yep, I've got a couple of pin holes exactly where you do. When I take it in for its 30K in a month, I'll show them and get it fixed. Thats what warrentees are for.

Have you ever noticed how water will pool up at the bottom corners of the rear window after a wash? That water is trapped inside.

Since day one, when I washed the Z, I have always raised the hatch and let it drain for a few minutes. A TON of water comes out. Once it's drained out, I wipe the parts near the weather striping dry with a towel before closing it.
