Hi guys got a noise at start up 03 track,sounds sort of like a lifter noise,any idea,only does it for 1-1.5 seconds,only when cold at first start up,thanks in advance,Craig.

 

cold start huh? maybe your oil is too thick for conditions. or very low?

 

my friend is experiencing the same problem...what should i tell him to do ?

 

check his oil level, if it's ok. change his oil to something thinner , if that don't work. take it to the dealer

 

update, you can feel it in the clutch pedal as it makes the noise,seems like the starter is staying engaged a little too long ,oil is factory weight,and full,car only has 3k miles,but hasnt been driven in 6 months.

 

I have the same problem, The oil level is fine and the weight. I change the oil at the dealer since I have 3 free oil changes. Total mile on the car 9000.
