Default Pissed Off at Z Modifying....

I cant believe that a front lip costs 300+ dollars on average. with install and paint, that is a $500 mod. what a crock of shiit! i highly doubt the materials and labor cost 300 for these pieces of urethane! front lips should cost around 150-200. as much as i want a veilside lip, i cannot justify it to myself to spend 370 for the lip, 100 to ship it, and 250 to have it installed and painted. thats almost 750 for the fakkin lip! id rather put the cash to use in my engine. what do you guys think? anyone else sharing my frustration?

i can understand expensive intakes, plenums, FI, exhuast mods..... because of all the R & D involved, as well as materials and craftmanship. i cannot justify a 500+ front lip, i just cant! imo... 350 installed and painted is a reasonable price. my sis has the oem g35 lip on her g coupe, and it looks amazing... totally aftermarket. she got it for 300 installed and painted.

that's what replicas are for. try www.streetstyler.com. i have their front lip, and it looks fine and costs much less than brand name stuff. i also have their side and rear skirts sitting in my garage that i will sell for cheap if you're interested...decided i don't want to mess with the lines on the side of my z.

Replicas are only worth it if they fit well. I don't give a rats a$$ if it was JDM, CDM(china), TDM (taiwan), or USDM. As long as the quality is good then it's fine. Although Japan is known for quality I've seen some really crappy fit and finish from the land of the rising sun.

they only offer one "lip" for the z. the other choice is the full front bumper. i installd it myself...sooper easy. fitment is fine. it came in black, which is the color of my car, and it is close enough in color that i haven't felt the need to get it painted yet. did you check their site?
and where are the sis pix?
