Default 2005 Yosemite Run Preview

May 7th is just 2 weeks away! We took a pre-run to Yosemite this weekend to scope out the day for everybody. We spent the night at Lake Tulluck Resort and took a few runs up and down Priest Grade on the way in to Yosemite. Here's pictures from the run.

Cool, I've been planning to go back there this year to do that half-dome hike. I was there for 4 days last year, and just couldn't get a couple people I was with to go along with it.

Nice pics. Any more? Would be interesting to see the actual meeting spots & photo spots, etc. BTW...how long was the drive? I've never been there before so I just want to get a feel for what to expect. Also, will this be an overnight meet?

Only a few, including probably the first ever with 350's, but none in your neck of the woods I might go to this one, because Yosemite rocks... big ones!

Get on board! Swing over to the original May 7th Yosemite Z run page and get signed up. It's going to be a great weekend.

I wonder if the waterfalls are better than usual due to all the rain this year.

Some places on the grade are so steep it's hard to walk. This car is really amazing. It just pulls pulls pulls. I timed most cars that day at just under 6 minutes from bottom to top. I'd make the run in 2 and never heard the tires. Going down is like a completely different road. We need to stagger the runs 30 sec. apart and play try to catch the Z in front of you. Lots of parking and pull out area at the base and at the top.

Yep. Late snow. We had a massive storm move through Cali only a week ago. All the falls are pounding!

Here's an email I got today from the cycleist atop Priest Grade.

-----------------------------------------------------
Hello Paul

Thanks so much!! It’s a great picture and I really appreciate you will to take time to stop, spend some time with us

and then send the picture.

A few facts about the group, we are the Valley Spokesmen Club and had just sponsored the Cinderella Ride, it’s 2500

Women that ride and “us guys” do all the work and support.

Bob, the guy on the right in yellow Bob is the head of the club and it was his 33rd time riding up Priest Grade

Again Thanks!!
